Cool Christmas Gift Ideas for Men in 2013

No man can get excited about a shirt-and-tie gift set. Or socks. And that cheap, knock-off multi-purpose tool he gets every year? Worthless. Men appreciate a well-thought-out gift that they can actually get excited about. Think about his personality; what does he enjoy doing? Watching sports? Cooking? Running? Does he appreciate the latest technology or the simplicity of a well-made knife? This list will help you find just the thing for the man in your life.

For the Chef

Victorinox 8-Piece Knife Block Set
by Victorinox

Men appreciate true craftsmanship and well-made tools. Here are some great tools for the kitchen. The Victorinox 8-Piece Knife set comes with all the knives he needs for prep work: a 4 inch paring knife for vegetables and intricate design work, a 6 inch boning knife great for chicken, duck or fish, and 8 inch chef’s knife — the generalist knife in the bunch that works for almost everything, an 8 inch bread knife for gliding through even the toughest crusty bread, and a 10 inch slicing knife for meats and large veggies. Also included is a 10 inch knife sharpener and a heavy-duty pair of kitchen shears. All store in the beautiful hardwood knife block. These quality knives are constructed with a full tang (which means that the blade continues all the way to the end of the handle, which makes it less likely to break and gives greater stability). The blades are high-carbon, no-stain steel. Handles are black fibrox and are designed with ergonomics in mind.

Christmas Gift Ideas for the Athlete

“Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen” (Vintage paperback)
by Christopher McDougall

If he’s a runner, he’ll love this book by Christopher McDougall about the Tarahumara tribe in Mexico. These ultra-runners run for hundreds of miles, without injury… or shoes. McDougall visits the Copper Canyons area to meet local ultra-runners and some of the Tarahumara people to find out their secrets and techniques. He ultimately puts together a 50 mile ultra race in the middle of the unforgiving desert, and participates in it. McDougall also includes research and information from some of the best running labs in the country, as scientists also try to figure out what makes the Tarahumara able to run without injury, and how they can develop shoes for Americans to do the same. “Born to Run” explores the latest shoe craze — Vibram and offers a thorough look at the drawbacks and benefits from this new technology. This book is an uplifting, inspiring tale that will motivate and delight your runner, and might just inspire him to complete an ultra-run.

Awesome Christmas Gift Ideas for Him 2013 to 2014

I know just how difficult it can be to shop for men. My Dad is probably one of the most difficult people to shop for because he gives no clues whatsoever as to what he would like. When I was younger I just bought him black socks or the occasional tie, but now that he’s getting a bit older and I’m a Father of children myself I like to get him gifts that he actually wants and won’t return to the store. In my quest for the best gift for him I decided to put together a list of all of 2013’s best Christmas gifts for men to share with all of you as well.

1.) Isotoner Men’s Smartouch Fleece Lined Glove – For the Man who Never Takes Care of Himself

I probably fall under the category of men who need this as many times I find myself outside working with a light jacket and no gloves. That being said, I know that I’m not the only one. The great thing about these Smartouch Fleece lined gloves is that they’re easy to work with and you can use touchscreen based devices with them.

2.) P90X2: The Next P90X DVD Series Base Kit – For the Guy who Loves Sports and Fitness

Whether he’s looking a little flabby or loved the first P90X the P90X2 is a great gift idea if he’s willing and able to get chiseled.

3.) HDE Temperature Gun Infrared Thermometer w/ Laser Sight

This inexpensive temperature gun is perfect for gauging grills, ovens, or hot equipment.

4.) Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 – Perfect for Gadget Lovers

5.) Rayovac SE3DLN Sportsman Xtreme 300-Lumen LED Lantern – Great for the Outdoors Man

If he is still using an old Lantern, then it’s time to get him up-to-date. These LED Lanterns are super bright and last longer. I recently used one of these on a camping trip and found myself turning it down to the low beam mode as the high one was at times too bright, but I like that I had a setting for pretty much any outdoor situation I’d get myself in.

6.) Leatherman 830846 Skeletool Multitool

This new tool from Leatherman features only the most important tools that he’ll need. While it doesn’t have everything like other Leatherman tools it’s perfect for everyday use because they’ve made it super lightweight.

7.) Black & Decker RRW100 Ratcheting ReadyWrench

The RRW100 saves you tons of time and effort dealing with sockets in every day house to house maintenance. It features 16 of the most popular standard (SAE) and metric (MM) socket sizes, so you always have what you need to get the job done.

8.) Popular Mechanics (1-year auto-renewal), Maximum PC (1-year auto-renewal)

Whether he’s a tool or PC guy, most men are one or the other or sometimes both, then he’ll appreciate this subscription that will keep on giving each month.

9.) NFL Mr. Potato Head – For the Football Lover

It’s about half the size of a normal Mr. Potato Head and should be easy to fit on his desk. When he sees it it’ll remind him of his two loves, football and you.

10.) Samsonite Golf Trunk Organizer – A Great Christmas Gift for Golfers

This trunk organizer saves him space when organizing all of his best golfing equipment.
